Rain played spoilsport as the third and final India-Ireland T20I got washed out in Malahide on Wednesday without a single ball being bowled. With the rain crashing the party, India's chances of securing an eighth 3-0 T20I series sweep also went up in smoke. The rain arrived just before the scheduled toss time and after almost three and a half hours of continuous downpour, the umpires decided to call off the game.

ODI WC: India to play warm-up games against England and Netherlands

India will play two official warm-up matches against England and the Netherlands before their ODI World Cup opener against Australia. The first game will be on September 30 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, followed by the Netherlands on October 3. Official warm-up matches for all ten countries will be held in Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad.

Former chairman of the selection committee Kris Srikkanth on Tuesday expressed his disappointment over the selection of injured KL Rahul for the upcoming Asia Cup. The BCCI selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar on Monday announced the 17-member squad for the tournament. Rahul, who recovered from a thigh injury he sustained during IPL, recently developed a niggle unrelated to his original injury but despite that the selection committee included him in the Asia Cup squad.
